WIC cut would deprive thousands of Pennsylvania's babies of vital nutrition

WIC provides nutrition-rich foods, infant formula, and nutritional counseling for pregnant women, mothers, and children up to five years of age.  A cut to the program recently approved by the U.S. House Appropriations Committee would turn away between 200,000 and 350,000 program participants nationwide next year.  As many as 10,000 Pennsylvania recipients could be affected.

A Day with Dr. Jeanette Betancourt and Sesame Street's "Food For Thought"

On Wednesday, May 18, Drexel and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children were visited by Dr. Jeanette Betancourt, Senior Vice President for Outreach and Educational Practices at Sesame Workshop.  Dr. Betancourt spoke about Food For Thought: Eating Well on a Budget, Sesame Street's newly released resource package for families coping with food hardship.

Witnesses attend Harrisburg rally and groundbreaking of Capitol Hunger Garden

Last week, Witnesses to Hunger teamed up with the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger to attend a fair budget rally and speak to representatives about welfare reform bills that threaten to increase hunger across Pennsylvania.

Witnesses speak out on the importance of full-day kindergarten
